Add a Thumbnail Image to Child Theme and Create a Cool Theme Preview
Now that you have create your child theme add a thumbnail image to child theme to customize it. Its easy and simple. Let’s see the easy way of doing it
The Old Boring Look
First of all if you have not created a child theme you are already late. Read all about child theme and how to create it in my post here before you move on with this post.
This is how my child theme looked in the themes section
Pretty boring isn’t it. Obviously I wanted it to look better. So I wanted to Add a Thumbnail Image to Child Theme.
This is how I did it, Its very easy
- Open the root folder via cPanel or FTP
- Browse to public_html>wp-content>themes folder
- Go to your child theme folder
- Add an image named screenshot.png
in cPanel image can be added using “Upload Image” link or in FTP just upload it in the child theme folder
Thumbnail size shown is 300 x 225px but it is recommended to upload an image of size 600 x 450 for hd quality
Now go to Appearence > Themes in your site dashboard.You will see your image there as a thumbnail.
